Chamber Supports Repairers

THE Hunter Business Chamber has offered its support to NRMA's insurance policyholders yesterday.

Chamber president Kyle Loades said smash repairers were losing up to $1 million a week because IAG, which owns NRMA's insurance business, was sending Hunter customers' cars interstate to be repaired.

Mr Loades said it was disappointing that IAG had chosen to talk only with repairers willing to comply with IAG's business conditions.

"This is not an issue about quality of work or turnaround times for repairs . . . It is about quoting by internet on repairs and repairers and the public are unconvinced about the benefits it might bring."
